The Don and Cathey Humphreys Chairs in International Studies are established
and maintained through the generosity of the Humphreys, who are committed to assisting
OSU students broaden their international experiences.
Chair holders are selected by a campus committee and are faculty members with
a demonstrated and ongoing record of promoting student opportunities abroad. Humphreys
Chair activities are administered through the university’s Division of International
Studies and Outreach, which is housed in the Wes Watkins Center on the Stillwater
Funds associated with the chairs are primarily designated to support long-term
student activities in other countries. They are administered separately from the
university Humphreys Study Abroad Scholarships and require a separate application
procedure. Applications may be submitted by any OSU graduate or undergraduate student,
including those not on the Stillwater campus.
The application is completed online and may be accessed through the designated
link. There is no standard award amount; applications include a budget, which may
receive full or partial funding from the chairs. Applications for support may be
submitted at any time, but prospective applicants should be sure to apply well in
advance of the start of their proposed program.
